Integrating It All

  • Build and start executing your business plan using the Complexity Plan Builder©

INTRODUCTION

  • Goal of the course  Organizing your goals and building a flexible, executable business plan. This is a hands-on boot camp where you will develop and start putting into action your plan for initiating and increasing your ability to provide goods and/or services to your clients.
  • Nothing is constant but change  Learn why it is important to have a flexible, adaptive frame of mind in order to do well in business.
  • Change Management  Start understanding change management and why it will always be one of your “go to” tools as long as you are in business.
  • The Business Triad©  Learn Center for Managing Change’s (CMC’s) unique 3-pronged approach to change management and improving your ability to satisfy your customer base.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Situational Sense Making  Everything is clear when you have the right vantage point and frame of mind. Learn the 5 different frames of mind that provide those vantage points and when to apply them.
  • From Random to Simple  Learn to read a situation and determine where it falls on the spectrum ranging from totally random to well-organized and simple. See which frame of mind is appropriate for getting things done and moving forward in your business.
  • The Chaos Quiz©  Take the Chaos Quiz© and determine where your organization falls on the spectrum from totally random thoughts to tightly organized business processes that get the job done. See how best to allocate your time based on your current situation. Learn how time allocation shifts as you work towards those stable business methods. Develop an understanding of your limits and determine when additional resources are needed.

THE BUSINESS TRIAD©

  • The Business Case  Put your vision into practice. Start building your business case and associated business processes. Develop an understanding of key stakeholders, their needs, and the commitments you need from them in order to move forward. Establish a scope of work that defines the boundaries that need to be addressed in order to have a stable, successful business.
  • Project Management  Implementing change requires proven and reliable methods. Learn the fundamentals of project management and stay organized throughout the change management process. Learn how to use risk management in making and implementing decisions.
  • People & Politics  Develop an understanding of yourself through your confidential personality assessment and develop an awareness of your team and stakeholders. Learn to see their strengths and challenges when it comes to problem solving, sustaining commitments, and working together.

INTEGRATING IT ALL

  • Build and Execute Your Plan  During the 4 weeks you will apply what you learn to build your business case and begin the process of putting it into action using the Complexity Plan Builder©. Along with your instructor, Gary Monti, you and your fellow boot campers will support each other through individual presentations and sharing of ideas.

SCHEDULE

  • Classes are 2 hours/day, 2 days/week, for 4 weeks
  • A big part of the boot camp is work outside of class including homework assignments, readings, and application of what you’ve learned in building and executing your business plan.
  • We will meet on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Monday – Friday access to Gary Monti via e-mail for the 4-week period
  • Prior to the beginning of class Gary Monti will conduct your confidential personality assessment to determine how you approach and solve problems. You will be encouraged to share this information with your classmates to add value to the course.
